Advocacy Action Plan

My inspirational quote regarding the role of advocacy that can play a role in the lives of young children are their families is, "I am only one, but still I am one, I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something I can do."  Edward Everette Hale

What inspires and excites me me most about my advocacy plan and being an advocate is seeing families received educational and developmental services, and children needs are being met.

The challenges i have targeted in this advocacy effort is if my colleagues feel this will put more work on them and they don't want to put in that extra work and effort, I need them to do.

What would be most effective in helping me to overcome my emotions, and challenges in presenting and implementing my Advocacy Action Plan would be the support of my colleagues, coordinator, and director. I feel we would all need to be on the same page to make this work. I believe my coordinator and director will agree with me because they put the Bilingual immersion Program in place, and I know they should want it to be implemented properly.

I believe we can all encourage each other, by letting each other know how important it is to be an advocate for young children and their families, and reminding each other that we are all advocates for young children in one way or another, and it is really great to see how much effort and work my colleagues are putting into their Advocacy Action Plan, and continue to keep up the good work.

  1. This does seem to be a problem, If there is a program that should be in place and others do not seem to help follow this program plan, or want to work with you on it.
I too have had problems with my last center, getting them to work with me. It seems as if we had try to gain their attentionspan on what they wanted to help out with. we needed more help around the center keeping children occupied with more activity. we let the teacher pick her favorite activity to help the kids with, and gave them the center to be at. It seems as if we needed to post them at a certain place so they didn't wander and had the children occupied with activity.

  2. I am impressed with your inspirational quote. It is true, one person can make a difference.
In seeing children and family needs being met would be exciting, in knowing that they are being educated and not left behind in areas of concern. I would like to encourage you to continue to develope your action plan in areas that you see fit. I have found that there are many areas that one can advocate in the area that you have chosen.

  3. Hello Celeste, I really like your inspirational quote! We are only one, but, each person has a important role to play in lives of children. There can be change if only for one child or family at a time. I believe that your advocacy action plan is a great idea and it will be successful if it's already supported by persons of higher authority, and if your co-teachers are supporting you everything will work out just fine.
